Wills

A Will is a document which expresses your wishes to be actioned after your death. It should appoint one or more Executors who will ensure that your wishes are carried out. It is important that a Will is worded correctly to ensure that your wishes are carried out exactly as you have planned them.

If you do not make a Will then Government Legislation decides who will receive your assets.

Deceased Estates

We can assist in all of the steps needed to deal with the assets of a person who has died. We can assist you to ensure that all matters are attended to promptly and with a minimum of inconvenience to you regardless of whether they had a will or not or whether a grant or probate is required.

Disputes can occur where a family member seeks a larger or different provision from the estate than that provided in the will. A dispute or uncertainty can also arise from improper interpretation of the wording of a will - generally the result of home-drawn or outdated documents. Where an estate is contested, we can provide advice and representation in order to achieve sensible economic outcomes. We assist families to settle their disputes and differences as amicably as possible but if this approach is not successful then we will assit you present your case in the best possible manner in Court.

Superannuation receives special treatment following a death. A claim against superannuation can be made by a wide range of people. We can assist you in making or defending a claim against superannuation.
